v     New graduation requirements for students entering 9th grader during the 2006 – 2007 school year and thereafter.

 

v     The FCAT Writing portion is now a graduation requirement for students entering 9th grade during the 2006-2007 school year and thereafter.

 

v     The Florida Medallion Scholars Award, one of the Bright Futures Scholarships, is now paying 100% tuition and fees if a student decides to attend a public community college in Florida.

 

v     Broward Community College is offering SAT Preparation for $145. Visit www.ce.broward.edu for more information!

 

v     Tutoring is available Tuesday-Thursday from 2:45-3:45 in room 312 free of charge. You can also receive volunteer hours for tutoring students during this time.

Virtual Counselor allows parents and students to see:

*      Past grades

*      Grade point average

*      Rank

*      FCAT and other test scores

*      Current schedule

*      Attendance/tardy history

*        High school graduation requirements

Click on Virtual Counselor

Parents: After clicking on “parent,” create a User ID and password

Students: After clicking on “student” type in your Student Number. This number is found on report cards and all official school correspondence. Make sure you enter a “zero” before your Student Number. It should read “06……..”

Next, enter your birth date.  Make sure you include the forward slashes “/” between your month and day. For example: 06/07/1998
