My name is Miss Machado. I have been teaching first grade now for five years. I graduated from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. Throughout my years in college, I had the opportunity to experience and observe different classroom settings and worked with elementary grades K-5 as a substitute teacher. I have been part of the Somerset Academy team for four years.

I have always considered the teaching profession a wonderful chance to instill the love of learning in children. As an educator, it is my responsibility to facilitate learning for all students, as well ensure that each child receives every possible opportunity to achieve success. I believe every child learns in a different way, therefore I strive to meet the individual needs of each student. In addition, I believe that a caring environment where a child feels confident fosters a positive learning experience where every child can learn.
