My
name is Karina Iber. I have been teaching for nine
years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Barry
University and my Master’s Degree from Nova Southeastern
University. I am State Certified Grades First through
Sixth and ESOL endorsed. I joined Somerset, when our
campus opened its doors seven years ago. I am married
with 3 children, ages 11, 9, and 4 (Sara, Kevin and
Alberto Jr.). I was born and raised in South Florida and
have been a resident of Pembroke Pines for the last 11
years. My husband, Alberto has been an educator for 16
years for the Miami-Dade County School System and is
currently an Assistant Principal at Hialeah High School.
My oldest children Sara and Kevin are proud students of
our school.
My
educational philosophy is that every child can learn and
learns differently. I mold the curriculum in my
classroom to meet the specific needs of each and every
student utilizing differentiated instruction. In my
classroom, the implementation of higher order thinking
skills provides learners with the opportunity to become
fulfilled achievers and makes them “raise the bar.” As
a result, students always leave my classroom with a
smile and a feeling of accomplishment. The highest
gratification I receive as an educator is when my former
students remind me of how much of a positive influence I
made in their lives, the following year! One of my
goals is to plant the apple seeds of academic growth and
to see them sprout for years to come.
I am
very delighted to have the opportunity to teach. My
vision is to provide children the tools needed to become
long life learners and productive members of our
society.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Iber - 3rd
Grade
